Stand-alone Azure Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) not availanle to purchase anymore


Just tried to purchase a Azure Multi-Factor Authentication license for a customer and got denied.

From 1 September 2018, the stand-alone Azure Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) services are not available as a stand-alone purchase. It is available bundled with Azure Active Directory Premium, Enterprise Mobility Suite and Enterprise Cloud Suite.

    They have jacked the pricing on the on prem servers for many products. They are cloud first now, I expect them to stop offering many other products on prem as well depending how profitable they are to maintain.

    Good to know, but I guess not much clients where buy solely this add-on. At this point MFA without CA is kinda useless.

    Overall they don’t even want people to go for EMS but for Microsoft 365, upselling one step at a time 🙂
